Chapter 54
Shawn smiled and reassured Serenity, “I don’t know exactly what’s wrong, but I’ll get your bike fixed. I promise it’ll be as good as new.” Since Shawn was Jasmine’s cousin and had been a longtime friend, Serenity felt comfortable trusting him. “Thank you,” she replied gratefully.
Shawn, eager to help, immediately pulled out his phone and made a call, sharing their location. The only thing left to do was wait for the tow truck.
Meanwhile, across the street, the driver of Zachary’s convoy noticed a familiar figure standing by the road. “Sir,” the driver said, his sharp eyes catching sight of a woman who seemed to be the missus. He turned to Zachary, who had been resting his eyes. “The woman looks like the missus.”
Zachary slowly opened his eyes and glanced toward the woman and the man beside her. From the distance, he couldn’t recognize the man, but the woman’s silhouette seemed familiar. After living with Serenity for a while, he had grown used to her figure.
“Slow down when we pass by,” Zachary instructed, his voice calm but commanding. “I need to be sure if it’s her.”
The driver nodded in agreement. Zachary pulled out his phone, thinking about calling Serenity but hesitated. The convoy slowed down as they approached the intersection.
As the cars cruised by, Zachary’s suspicions were confirmed—it was indeed his wife, Serenity. He realized who the man standing next to her was only after the convoy had moved away. It was Shawn! His love rival.
