Chapter 138
Chapter Title: A Moment of Intimacy
Myra had no choice but to take a bath in the bathroom of her bedroom. After what felt like the longest bath she’d ever taken, she finally climbed out of the tub.
She dried her hair slowly, her fingers working through the strands. At first, Myra had wrapped herself in a bathrobe, but the moment she remembered there was a man in the house, she quickly changed into her loungewear.
As she stood in front of the mirror, her hand reached for a bottle of perfume that had never been used before. It was a reflex, but as soon as she realized what she was doing, she put the bottle back down. Her ears turned a bright shade of red.
When she opened the bedroom door, she was still slightly dazed, her cheeks flushed from the warmth of the bath.
Outside, Tony was sitting on the couch, watching TV, looking bored. The moment he saw her step out of the room, his eyebrows raised, a teasing gleam in his eyes. “I thought you’d fallen asleep in the bathtub.”
His gaze swept over her, and Myra, suddenly unsure of what to do with her hands and feet, walked toward the couch. She sat down at the opposite end, trying to act as casual as possible. “Didn’t you say you had something to tell me?”
“Why so far away?” Tony’s voice held a trace of irritation as his eyes narrowed, noticing the distance she had placed between them.
Myra bit her lip nervously. She walked over, slowly lowering herself onto the couch beside him. Taking a sip from the glass of water in front of her, she tried to calm her racing heart. “Speak.”
Tony chuckled, tossing an unlit cigarette aside. He stood up, walking toward her.
His tall frame was imposing, and the bathrobe he wore only added to his commanding presence. The neckline was slightly open, revealing his strong, muscular chest. His energy radiated dominance, and it was impossible to ignore him.
Myra, panicking, quickly averted her gaze. When she looked up again, she found herself caught in his intense stare.
“Afraid of me?” His voice was low, teasing, and full of a kind of charm that seemed to strip away her composure. In the quiet of the night, his presence was intoxicating.
Myra stammered, “M-Mr. Hart, if you have something to say, just say it. Didn’t you mention you needed to tell me something?”
“Tony.” His voice was firm, and his eyes darkened as they bore into her.
Myra swallowed hard, the weight of his gaze making her heart race. “Tony…” she repeated, her voice barely a whisper.
Her ears burned with embarrassment as a blush crept down her neck. She felt like a nervous rabbit in his presence.
Tony studied her carefully, his mind racing with thoughts of the box he’d seen earlier. Ever since that moment, his anticipation for tonight had been building. A fiery intensity flared in his eyes as he spoke in a low, gravelly voice. “I’m going on a business trip to the United States tomorrow. I’ll be back in a week at the very least, or maybe half a month.”
The suddenness of the news made Myra pause for a moment. “You’re going on a business trip…” She glanced at the suitcase by the door, the pieces falling into place.
“Okay.” Without warning, Tony closed the distance between them, pressing his lips firmly to hers.
The first two attempts hadn’t been right, but tonight, he couldn’t hold back any longer.
“Tony…” Myra’s eyes filled with emotion, her voice barely audible.
