After an hour of driving, Myra finally reached Lavender Residence in the city center. The traffic at night was light, allowing her to make the journey without much delay. Lavender Residence was an exclusive, high-end complex in Bradfort City, where every square inch of land was a luxury. It wasn’t a place that just any wealthy person could afford; it was reserved for those at the very top. Myra had heard that the Hart Group developed it two years ago, and it had sold out quickly during the planning stages. Back then, Eve had hoped to buy a unit as a wedding gift for herself and Sean, but she was unable to secure a spot.

After Myra ended her call with Sean, he didn’t attempt to contact her again. She couldn’t help but smile bitterly, feeling a mix of irritation and resignation. When the security guards saw the car she was driving, they immediately lifted the gate, letting her enter without question. Myra parked in the basement parking area, but as she sat in the car, she felt a sense of unease.

Tony, despite being a tall man with a lean physique, was still a lot to handle, especially since he was intoxicated. She wasn’t sure how she was going to manage him, but there was no one around to help her. It was a quiet night in the basement, and she had no choice but to help him herself.

With a resigned sigh, she opened the car door and tried to get Tony out. He was so drunk he could hardly recognize her, but he still had enough awareness to understand that he needed to get out of the car. As soon as his feet hit the ground, they both stumbled, and Myra had to grip the car for support to steady herself. Finally, she managed to regain her balance.

“Seeing how much effort I’ve put in, maybe the Chase Group could offer a little extra profit if I land the Sunny Bay Project,” she muttered under her breath, more to herself than to Tony, as she closed the car door. Unbeknownst to her, Tony’s lips twitched slightly in amusement, though he was too intoxicated to respond.

“You’re so heavy…” Myra sighed as she tried to steady him. After locking the car, she slowly walked with him toward the elevator. She was used to supporting Sean, but holding a man she barely knew made her feel awkward. Thankfully, Tony was unconscious, so the awkwardness wasn’t as pronounced.

When they reached a small step, Myra instinctively slowed her pace. However, just as she was about to step down, a sudden wave of dizziness hit her, and before she knew it, she lost her balance. “Oh!” she cried out as she tumbled to the ground, landing directly on top of Tony.

For a brief moment, she could swear she felt a hand protectively shield her head as they fell. With a soft grunt, she found herself on Tony, her lips meeting his in an unexpected kiss. The shock of the situation made her eyes widen in disbelief. She hadn’t expected to fall in such a way, let alone kiss him.

To her surprise, he smelled good—like mint and tobacco. While Myra wasn’t disgusted, she felt both embarrassed and nervous. She quickly pulled herself off of him, but as she looked at the man still lying on the ground, she saw that he appeared even more pale under the harsh lights of the parking lot. Despite the fall, he didn’t wake up. His frown, however, indicated that the fall had caused him pain.

Subconsciously, Myra touched her lips. She wasn’t sure if it was the fever or the embarrassment making her face flush, but she couldn’t help but feel mortified. She wasn’t sure what annoyed her more—how ridiculous she felt for being in this situation or how she had no one to blame but herself. If Tony had fallen on her, there’s no way she would have been able to lift him herself.

After taking a deep breath, she crouched down and helped him up again. She guided him into the elevator, pressing the button for his floor. But as the elevator doors closed and they reached their destination, she froze. Lavender Residence only had one unit per floor. Leo hadn’t given her the house keys—did that mean Tony had them?

Myra’s face flushed again as she glanced at the pockets of Tony’s trousers. The thought of rifling through his clothes made her uneasy, but she didn’t have a choice. She leaned him against the wall of the elevator and freed one of her hands.

Her heart raced in her chest as she gathered the courage to reach into his pockets. This was a level of physical closeness she hadn’t shared even with Sean, and the intimacy of the situation made her feel both anxious and self-conscious. But with Tony unconscious and unaware, she pushed through her discomfort, determined to find the keys.
