Chapter 36
Myra nodded in response.
After that, everyone went to their rooms to place their luggage and freshen up before gathering at the designated meeting room. Myra gained a lot of insight from today’s session, and it confirmed her suspicions. When her work had been heavily criticized by the Hart Group in the past, she had a faint sense that their frustration had little to do with her design drafts and more with something personal. That was why she had come up with a brand new design after a moment of inspiration. She couldn’t wait to perfect it and hand it over to the Hart Group before the end of the business trip.
Once back in her hotel room, Myra immediately set to work on her new draft, losing track of time until hunger finally caught up with her. It was already past 9:00 PM, so she decided to head down to the restaurant and grab a quick bite. As she was about to return to her room, Leo stopped her.
“Miss Stark, are you heading back to your room? Could you take Mr. Hart’s dinner to him? I need to go back to the construction site,” he asked.
Since Myra was staying in the room next to Tony’s, she didn’t think twice. She agreed to help and took the lunch box from Leo. However, as she turned to leave, she missed the sly smile that flickered across his face.
Arriving at Tony’s room, Myra knocked on the door but received no answer. She knocked again, this time trying the door and finding it unlocked.
“Director Hart, are you there?” she called, stepping inside.
There was no response. She hesitated, unsure whether to leave the dinner or wait for him, when suddenly, Meow, the big dog, excitedly ran toward her. It grabbed her dress in its mouth and tried to pull her inside.
“Meow, let go,” Myra murmured. She couldn’t enter the room.
The dog paid her no mind, happily pulling her along. Feeling awkward, Myra placed the lunch box on the cabinet and gently held Meow’s head, trying to stop it from dragging her further into the room.
“You can’t just bring strangers into your master’s room. He’ll be mad at you,” she joked, patting Meow on the head.
The dog just looked at her with its bright eyes, licking her hand instead of listening. Myra couldn’t help but smile despite herself. “Alright, alright. I’ll place the food where he’ll see it.”
Just as she picked up the lunch box, a deep voice echoed from the doorway. “Meow…”
Myra froze, her heart skipping a beat. She slowly raised her gaze to find Tony standing in front of her, barefoot and wrapped only in a towel.
The sight caught her completely off guard. “You… Director Hart… Why are you not wearing any clothes?” she stammered, the lunch box slipping from her hands and clattering to the floor.
