Chapter 29
The fact was that Justin did not feel any joy in regaining his freedom to pursue his own love.
Instead, he felt overwhelmed by the weight of his unresolved emotions and the expectations he had for his relationship with Rosalind.
The situation was far from what he had imagined.
As he sat in his office, his mind raced with conflicting thoughts, when a knock on the door broke his train of thought.
Ian quickly entered with a document in hand.
“Mr. Salvador, I’ve investigated the situation.
KS World Hotel canceled orders with Alia Furniture nine days ago and terminated cooperation with Gold Corporation.
However, at that time, KS Group did not disclose Alia Furniture’s quality issues to the media.
The public was mostly left to speculate about what happened.
” Ian continued, “Then, Rosalind publicly revealed her marriage to you and defamed Anna Brown.
That was when KS Group exposed Alia Furniture’s quality issues, sparking an uproar.
” Justin clenched his teeth, his hands trembling as he took out a painkiller to try and suppress the pounding headache.
“I heard that a vice president of the hotel, Michael Gordon, took a lot of kickbacks from Gold Corporation before Ms. Thompson took office.
When Ms. Thompson discovered the hotel was using defective mattresses instead of genuine ones, she fired him.
Michael Gordon had worked at KS World Hotel for over 20 years, and Mr. Wyatt Thompson had promoted him.
Gee, Ms. Thompson is bold—she’s like a female version of you, Mr. Salvador.
” Although Ian was still a bit irritated by the long climb, he couldn’t help but praise Bella for her decisiveness.
“I have a feeling that all these events are connected,” Ian added, sensing a deeper plot at work.
Justin rubbed his temples, his mind racing.
He recalled the sound of high heels echoing in the corridor the previous day—the unmistakable sound of Anna Brown’s footsteps.
“Justin, don’t take any more painkillers.
If you have a headache, I’ll help you with a massage or acupuncture,” Anna’s gentle voice echoed in his mind.
