Chapter 54
Justin couldn’t shake the image of Amma’s disappointed, resentful gaze from his mind.
It lingered, leaving him feeling as if he had lost something crucial.
The emptiness in his chest only deepened with every passing thought.
When Justin entered the study, Wilma was close behind, clearly unhappy.
“Young Master, Ms. Gold’s car is downstairs. You should go down and greet her.”
“I’m not going,” Justin replied flatly.
Wilma blinked, clearly stunned by Justin’s refusal to acknowledge Rosalind.
She couldn’t contain her joy.
“I know why she’s here,” Justin muttered as he slumped on the sofa, his eyes distant.
“Go down and tell her that if she’s here for Zeke, don’t bother. The Gold family must be in chaos now, so she should go home and spend time with her parents. After the media scrutiny dies down in a few days, I’ll visit her.”
Wilma hesitated for a moment before asking, “What if she refuses to leave?”
“Then just let her be,” Justin sighed, rubbing his temples in frustration.
All he could think of was Anna’s harsh words, calling him a “good-for-nothing ex-husband.
” ‘How am I a good-for-nothing? She doesn’t even know what I’m capable of!’ he thought bitterly. Wilma, sensing Justin’s annoyance, gave him a thumbs-up and hurried out of the study, eager to deliver the message to Rosalind. Justin frowned, sensing Wilma’s deep dislike for Rosalind, almost like it was personal. Wilma was practically giddy as she went outside, a smile tugging at her lips as she saw Rosalind waiting anxiously.
“The young master said he won’t get involved in your family affairs,” Wilma said coolly, standing her ground.
“You should give up and go home.”
Rosalind, refusing to back down, immediately tried to push past Wilma.
“Let me in! I need to see Justin!” she demanded, her voice full of desperation.
However, Wilma was far stronger than Rosalind.
Without even moving a muscle, she stood firm, and Rosalind lost her balance, stumbling and falling to the ground.
