Chapter 72
Bella was not someone to be underestimated.
With a fierce determination in her voice, she spoke, “Listen carefully.
From this moment on, Rosalind and I are enemies.
If I ever go back on my word, I’ll be destroyed, just like this bracelet.
” Bella clenched her teeth as she slowly opened her hand, revealing her bloody palms and the shattered pieces of the jade bracelet.
Justin’s chest tightened as he saw her injury.
He could see that Bella had been holding the broken bracelet, probably not even noticing that her hand was bleeding.
His emotions churned, a twinge of guilt and confusion tugging at him as he stared at her face, filled with resentment.
His heart cracked slightly at the sight.
“Ms. Brown! Your hands are bleeding!” Ryan exclaimed urgently.
He started searching through his pockets for anything to help, but his search was fruitless.
He couldn’t find a handkerchief or tissue.
Justin, too, had a handkerchief in his breast pocket, but as he reached for it, he hesitated, unable to bring himself to give it to her.
The tension in the air was thick.
Suddenly, a delicate fragrance filled the room, and a graceful figure in a dark green dress passed by.
Bella froze for a moment when she realized it was Mila.
Without a word, Mila walked over to her, gently picking up the broken jade pieces from Bella’s hand and placing them into her suit pocket.
She then carefully wrapped Bella’s injured palm with a white handkerchief.
Bella’s eyes welled up with tears as she almost called out Mila’s name but bit her lip, holding back the emotion.
“It’s a shame such a beautiful hand is wounded,” Mila said, her calm demeanor betraying the fury that burned within her.
She wanted nothing more than to tear the Salvador family apart for what they had done.
“Long time no see, Mrs. Thompson.
You’re more beautiful than ever,” Shannon immediately greeted Mila, her face changing in an instant.
She tried to be familiar, but her tone was forced.
“How are you, Mrs. Thompson?” Jean also greeted her, though her smile was far more calculated, an attempt to flatter Mila.
Mila, the second wife of Wyatt Thompson, was well-known in society.
