Chapter 75
Justin’s gaze turned sharp as he focused on Rosalind, her face pale and full of panic.
A storm seemed to be brewing in his eyes as he slowly released her hand, his fingers uncurling from her wrist.
Rosalind, feeling as though she was sinking into quicksand, scrambled to cling to him, her arms wrapped around his waist.
“No, Justin! Anna provoked me first! I didn’t do anything to her! Carrie has always been sick in the head, don’t listen to her!” she pleaded desperately.
“Sick in the head? Carrie just has a bad hairdo. She clearly explained what happened between Anna and Rosalind,” Ryan sneered, but he kept his words mild, understanding Justin’s fragile mood.
Even someone as indifferent as Ryan looked down on Rosalind, but Justin, blinded by his emotions, still held onto her.
Justin took a deep breath, his voice tight.
“Anna didn’t hurt you, right?”
Rosalind, her body soaked in cold sweat, now found herself unable to lie in front of Carrie, the witness.
She stammered, trying to salvage what little dignity she had left.
“No, it’s not that…”
Her voice trailed off as her body began to shake.
Her vision blurred, and the tension finally overwhelmed her.
The blood drained from her face, and with a faint gasp, Rosalind collapsed into Justin’s arms, fainting from the combination of fear and stress.
The scene quickly ended, the farce unraveling as Rosalind was hurriedly carried away in an ambulance, the chaos dissipating as if it had never happened.
Later, as Bella walked with Mila toward the underground parking lot, Steven appeared, rushing over in alarm.
“Ms. Bella! I’m sorry I wasn’t there when this happened.
” He was startled by the sight of the bloodstained handkerchief in her hand.
“Why are you hurt? Who did this? I’ll make them pay!”
